Little Bo Peep

By L. Leslie Brook

Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep
And can't tell where to find them
Leave them alone,
And they'll come home
Wagging their tails behind them

Little Bo Peep fell fast asleep
And dreamt she heard them bleating
But when she awoke,
She found it a joke
For they were all still fleeting

Then up she took her little crook
Determined for to find them
She found them indeed,
But it made her heart bleed
For they'd left all their tails behind them!

It happened one day, as Bo Peep did stray
Into a meadow hard by
There she espied
Their tails side by side
All hung on a tree to dry

She heaved a sigh and wiped her eye
And over the hillocks she raced;
And tried what she could,
As a shepherdess should
That each tail should be properly placed

Bo-Pip

Haitian Creole
Translated and adapted in Haitian Creole by Allendy Doxy ([email protected])

Bo-Pip te pèdi kabrit li yo.
Li pa t konnen kibò yo te ye.
Pou li yo pa t tounen paske yo pa t vle.
Ou mèt kite yo, fòk yo vin tounen chèche dlo.

Dòmi pati ak Bo-Pip anba yon pye bwa.
Li te reve kabrit yo t ap rele.
Men lè li finalman te vin reveye,
Li wè se reve li t ap reve yon istwa.

Li leve epi li pran yon baton
Ak tèt won pou li ka ale chèche yo.
Li jwenn yo tout bò yon pas dlo,
Men yo te san kòn. Malediksyon!

Men yon jou Bo-Pip te pèdi wout li;
Li te mache rive nan yon klèryè.
Epi lè li gade sou yon touf flè
Li wè kòn yo k ap seche an plen midi.

Ti dam lan kouri, li monte, li desann tout kalite mòn wo
Pou wè si li ta rive kole ankò tout kòn yo
Tankou nenpòt bon gadò kabrit ta fè.
Men ou remake Bo-Pip pa t doktè.
